Jesus Has Borne Your Diseases

Jesus Has Borne Your Diseases

Isaiah 53:4
4Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows…
Imagine the dreadful disease leprosy eating a man alive. The poor leper in Matthew 8:2 could stand his suffering no longer, so he came out into the open to look for Jesus. He needed to know if Jesus was willing to heal him. When he saw Jesus, he fell at His feet and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” (Matthew 8:2) The Son of God looked at the outcast with love in His eyes, reached out His hand, touched him and said, “I am willing; be cleansed.” (Matthew 8:3)
Perhaps you are suffering from some disease and wondering if God is willing to heal you? You are not sure if He is willing because just as you have seen people get healed, you have also seen people not get healed. My friend, don’t look to people’s experiences. Look to the cross! As surely as Jesus bore away your sins, He also bore away your diseases!
I want to give you a solid foundation today for believing this truth. In Isaiah 53, the chapter on our Lord’s crucifixion, it says in verse four: “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows”. Now, let’s learn a little Hebrew. The words “griefs” and “sorrows” here mean “sicknesses” and “pains” in the original Hebrew text. So Isaiah was referring to physical healing.
Once, I asked a Jewish friend to read this verse in his Hebrew Bible and tell me what it means. He told me that his Bible says clearly that Jesus has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains.
If that is not enough, look at Matthew 8:16–17: “… they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.’” Matthew quotes Isaiah 53:4, saying that Jesus took our “infirmities” and bore our “sicknesses”. The context here refers to physical healing.
My friend, if you will just believe this truth, your days of sickness will be over. You will walk in greater health because the One who has surely borne your sicknesses and carried your pains says to you, “I am willing, be cleansed!”

Boy Recovers From Fatal Disease

This is one awesome healing testimony!
I so love this part :
"I walked into the chapel that night, and I said the Lord’s Prayer. I said, ‘If You want this child, he’s Yours. He was Your lamb before You gave him to us. If You have to take him, then take him, because I can’t manage it anymore.’”
Debbie was also looking to God. She says, “When his heart stopped, it seemed like no matter how I prayed, He wasn’t hearing me. Not until he came out of the recovery room and was on a vent did I hand Mason over to God and said, ‘I don’t know what else to do. If You want him, take him. He’s Your son and let Your will be done.’”

---

CBN.com – When two-year-old Mason Ikirt caught a cold from his sister, his parents, Debbie and Steve, weren’t too concerned. But when his fever spiked to 106 and he began having convulsions, they rushed him to the emergency room.

“We had never experienced anything like that before,” Debbie tells The 700 Club. "They explained to us that this was fairly common. That when a temperature goes from 98 to 106, a child can go into what they call a febrile seizure, and they sent him home."

The next day, Debbie and Steve followed up with Mason’s pediatrician.

“They sent him down for x-rays to get some fluid because he was dehydrated and discovered that he had extensive pneumonia on the right side of his chest.”

His parents were told once again not to worry, and Mason was put on antibiotics. A few days later Debbie says, “Mason started turning really pale. We couldn’t get anything down him.”

Steve says, “He got more and more lethargic. He wasn’t moving around. He wasn’t playing.”

They took him back to the hospital. Blood work showed Mason’s platelet count was less than one tenth what it should be. Dr. Michael Vish was on-call at the time. He says, “The pneumonia wasn’t in and of itself the thing that was worrying me the most. He had a few other subtle abnormalities in his labs that were telling me that he was developing a kidney problem.”

It was a condition that can follow pneumonia sometimes, and it’s called the hemolytic uremic syndrome. It feeds on platelets and destroys the red blood cells. There is no cure and no treatment.

Steve recalls, “I asked Dr. Vish again, ‘What are we talking about here?’ He said, ‘Your child is very, very sick. Dying sick.’”

By the next morning, Mason’s platelet count had dropped even more. His kidneys failed, and the disease was spreading to the rest of his body.

“They were setting him up to give him a transfusion to stay ahead of this disease,” says Steve, “and to then purify his blood with dialysis, so that other organs wouldn’t fail.”

Mason had a severe lung infection, but until his platelet count rose, the surgery to remove the infection was too risky. If they operated too soon, Mason could bleed to death. All anyone could do was wait and pray. Three days later, Mason was stable enough to go into the operating room.

Debbie says, “About 3 1/2 hours later, the surgeon called and told us that everything looked fine.”

Suddenly, everything wasn’t fine.

Debbie continues, “I heard over the loudspeaker, ‘Any available surgeon to the OR stat!’ I asked the nurse, ‘Do you think that’s for Mason?’ And she said, ‘I don’t think so, but I’ll check.’ About five minutes she didn’t come back. I knew something was desperately wrong.”

Steve says, “We were praying together and holding each other. His primary internist walked in and took a knee in front of us. When he took that knee, my heart just dropped to the most bottom part of my body.”

“He told us it was worse than he thought,” Debbie says, “that Mason bled out and his heart stopped.”

Mason’s heart didn’t beat for 18 minutes. After he was moved to recovery, Steve talked to the surgeon. He said, “I could see he was choked up, and I said, ‘So what happened?’ He said, ‘I had to manually reach in his chest and pump that heart to keep the blood in his heart.’”

Later that afternoon, Steve discussed the situation with his brother.

“I asked him directly, ‘Do you think that Mason’s gonna die?’ He said, ‘If Jesus wanted this boy, he would’ve been taken. This is a divine situation. If you can’t see that, then you are just blind here. It’s way, way bigger than you and I. Your planning is worthless here. What you need to do is fight with this boy. We need to pray and focus on him, because Jesus Christ hasn’t given up on him.’ I walked into the chapel that night, and I said the Lord’s Prayer.

Although Debbie's and Steve’s spiritual outlook had changed, Mason’s condition had not.

Dr. Stephen Keller says, “He actually had multi-organ system failure. When you put all of that together, he certainly had a less than 20 percent chance of surviving based on the medical knowledge that we have.”

Mason’s dismal medical prognosis intimidated everyone except his four-year-old sister, Brooke. She recalls, “My grandma was sitting at the table, and she was worried if he would die. Then I said, ‘It’s okay, John 14:14 will help you. Ask anything in His name and it shall be done.’”

Three days later… “Mason started urinating, which meant his kidneys started working,” says Debbie. “On the fifth day they took him off the vent, and Mason started an encephalopathic cry, which is an uncontrollable, inconsolable cry. They took him down for an MRI and discovered he had 12 strokes.”

The strokes affected the parts of Mason’s brain that control mobility and sight. Doctors warned the Ikirts that he might never walk or see again.

“We believed in nothing but Mason’s 100 percent recovery and healing,” says Debbie. “So we said, ‘Okay, whatever it is, it is and we’ll take him.’”

After nine weeks in intensive care Mason was transferred to a children’s rehab center. Still blind and unable to move or speak, Mason had to be cared for like an infant. He made amazing progress and totally regained his sight. After just three months of rehab, Mason went home. Today, he is a thriving pre-schooler.

Dr. Vish recalls seeing him for the first time after his ordeal. He says, “I didn’t recognize Mason. I didn’t see a sick kid. I saw a happy, well child. I had to look at him hard and think, wow, this is the kid who went through kidney failure, respiratory failure, CPR -- who quite frankly I really didn’t think was going to recover.”

Dr. Robert Fildes concurs, “It's nothing short of a miracle."

“God can move mountains,” Debbie says. “We’ve got proof that that’s absolutely true.”

Jesus’ Blood Speaks Better Things

Jesus’ Blood Speaks Better Things

Hebrews 12:24
24to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

Today, forensic science tells us that blood has a voice. DNA can be extracted from just one small drop of the murderer’s blood and the results used in court as evidence.

So blood in a sense can speak. And when it is the blood of Jesus, it “speaks better things” than that of Abel. Abel’s blood cried out, “Vengeance! Vengeance!” after his brother Cain murdered him. (Genesis 4:8–11) But Jesus’ blood cries out forgiveness for our sins, healing for our bodies, and peace and soundness for our minds. It cries out protection for our coming-ins and going-outs, prosperity for the works of our hands, the righteousness of Christ as our acceptance before God and much more!

In the Bible, Jesus’ blood speaking of “better things” is found in the context of the last days when things are being shaken, so that the things which cannot be shaken will remain. (Hebrews 12:27) God wants you to know that you will not be shaken when you put your faith in Jesus’ blood, which speaks better things for you. That is why God wants you to see Jesus’ blood shed for you in every area that causes your heart to tremble and your confidence to be shaken.

For example, if you are afraid of losing your job, speak the blood of Jesus over your job. His blood cries out, “Favor with his boss!” And in these days when you are shaken by fears that terrorism may strike anyone, anywhere, anytime, plead the blood of Jesus which cries out, “Protection and deliverance!” When fear rises in your heart as the doctor gives you his prognosis, plead the blood of Jesus over your body. His blood cries out, “Healing and wholeness!”

The eternal blood of Jesus, which speaks better things, will never lose its power. Beloved, see that you do not refuse Him who speaks. (Hebrews 12:25) See that you keep hearing the voice of grace, which speaks salvation, righteousness, protection, deliverance, prosperity and healing over your life!

Do You Know The Jesus Of The Bible?

Do You Know The Jesus Of The Bible?

John 14:7
7“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

Someone once told me that just because you ask God for something, it does not mean that He will give it to you. Quoting 1 John 5:14–15, he said that we first have to ask according to His will before He hears and gives us what we ask of Him.

Of course, we do not ask for things that are against God’s will or Word. But what is normally implied in the earlier statement is that we don’t always know what God’s will for us is — “what will be, will be”. But didn’t Jesus say, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father”? (John 14:9) This means that if you want to know what the Father’s will, mind, heart or attitude toward you and your family is, just look at Jesus in the Gospel stories.

So if your child is sick, is it God’s will to heal him? Well, look at Jesus and see how He ministered to children who were sick — the Syro-Phoenician’s daughter who was demon-possessed (Mark 7:24–30), Jairus’ daughter who was dead (Mark 5:22–24, 35–43), and the widow of Nain’s only son who had died and was about to be buried. (Luke 7:12–15) Jesus cast out the demon. He raised the dead. He healed them all!

Beloved, don’t say, “We can never know God’s will. Sometimes He heals, sometimes He doesn’t. He may prosper us, but He may also take away our prosperity.” The Jesus of the Bible never made anyone sick. He never made anyone poor. He made the little become much with 12 baskets full of leftovers. (Matthew 14:20) He gave a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish to fishermen. (Luke 5:6–7)

My friend, the Jesus of the Bible loves to heal, deliver, prosper and save people. This Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) And He says to you today, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” So you can know God’s will for you. You can see what He will do for you when you know the Jesus of the Bible and what He did.

God Justifies The Ungodly

God Justifies The Ungodly

Romans 4:5
5But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

Boldness is what God wants you to have when you come to Him. He does not want you to be afraid to come to Him, feeling unworthy because of your sins. He wants you to come boldly to Him, knowing that the death, burial and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ has justified you and qualified you to boldly receive from Him.

This was the kind of boldness that the woman with the issue of blood had when she touched Jesus. (Mark 5:25–34) Now, by touching Jesus, she knew that she was breaking a Levitical law which states that anyone with a bodily discharge is unclean, and should not appear in public, let alone touch another person. (Leviticus 15)

But she refused to feel condemned by the law. She believed what she had heard about Jesus, and was confident that there would only be love and compassion, not condemnation, from Him. She believed that Jesus would justify her and qualify her to receive the miracle she needed. That was why she boldly pressed her way into the crowd to touch Jesus, who indeed said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well.” (Mark 5:34)

What was it about her faith that made her well? Romans 4:5 talks about faith that believes God justifies the ungodly. When you believe that God justifies the ungodly, it will give you boldness to come to God, even when you feel unclean because you have just blown it.

When you fail, don’t run away from God. Run boldly to Him, knowing that you are justified by the blood of Christ and not by your good behavior.

The devil may say to you, “How can you do that? Who do you think you are?” Don’t listen to him. Pick yourself up and thank God for the blood and the gift of no condemnation. (Romans 8:1) If God justifies the ungodly, how much more you, His beloved child!

Get God’s Word For It

Get God’s Word For It

Matthew 4:4
4…He [Jesus] answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

When the devil tempted Jesus, Jesus turned the Word of God on him, saying, “It is written… It is written… It is written…” (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10)

Likewise, should the devil remind you of the pain in your body, say what God’s Word says: “It is written, ‘By His stripes I am healed!’” (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24) And tell Daddy God, “I have Your Word for it and I am standing on Your Word. I am not trying to be healed. My healing has already happened. I don’t care what this body says. It has to line up with Your Word because by Jesus’ stripes I am healed!”

And if the devil says to you, “Look at the meager balance in your bank account. How are you going to pay your bills?” just say, “I am not trying to be rich. I am already rich and I have God’s Word for it. It is written, ‘My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.’ (Philippians 4:19) It doesn’t matter how much I have in the bank. God’s Word tells me that as the need arises, the supply will be there!”

When fear grips you, don’t say to yourself, “This fear is stupid. Come on, what are the chances of it happening to me?” Don’t try to rationalize or reason your fear away. Instead, speak God’s Word into the situation. Say, “It is written, ‘For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.’” (2 Timothy 1:7) What if the fear returns? Speak God’s Word again. Say, “It is written, ‘For God has not given me a spirit of fear…’”

When the devil tries to deceive you, give him the Word of God. There is something about the Word of God that causes him not to want to hang around those who use it. It reminds him of Jesus, the Word made flesh (John 1:14), who rendered him powerless and of no effect when He said, “It is written…”

Standing On No-Curse Ground

Standing On No-Curse Ground

Genesis 8:4
4Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.

For 40 days and nights, it rained so hard that the whole world perished, except for Noah and those who were with him in the ark. At the end of 150 days, on the 17th day of the seventh month, the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat.

In Hebrew, the word “Ararat” means “the curse is reversed”. The waters of judgment receded, causing the ark to rest on the mountains of Ararat, on new ground where the curse is reversed. And it happened on the 17th day of the seventh month on the Feast of Firstfruits — the exact date that Jesus rose from the dead 4,000 years later!

When Christ rose from the dead, we were raised together with Him. (Colossians 2:12). We who are in Christ our true ark stand on resurrection ground where the curse has been reversed (Galatians 3:13), where diseases, poverty and failures have no right to operate!

A church member shared how God delivered him from cervical spondylosis, a medical condition which causes the neck section of the spinal cord to deteriorate. An X-ray taken four to five years back showed that that area of his spinal cord was deteriorating fast. He was in pain and had to take medicine to manage the condition. And whenever he had a relapse, he would get depressed.

During his last relapse, he went to the doctor, trusting God that he was already healed, had another X-ray taken and was given some medication. He took the medication, still believing God that he was healed. The following morning, the pain in his neck was gone and he was able to turn his head. When he finally collected his X-ray results a week later, his doctor actually told him that his spinal cord looked better than the doctor’s own! The doctor was very surprised because patients with this condition usually don’t get better. God had reversed the curse of cervical spondylosis for him!

My friend, as a believer, you are on no-curse ground. You stand in the blessings zone where it is very easy for God’s blessings to rain all over you!
