Helpless One (Audio) | Joseph O'Brien

Helpless One (Audio) | Joseph O'Brien

I carry the shame

I carry the weight

That I feel in the shame

Fear alone

Is why I never wanna roam

[Pre-Chorus]

It isn't enough

No, it isn't love

And yet I remain

It isn't enough

No, it isn't love

And yet I remain

[Chorus]

How could I let you go?

When there is nothing for me?

How could I be so low

When I'm alone and I try, and try, and try to pray?

Try and try to pray

N-n-n-no no

Merciful God, I come

I know you listen to the poor and the helpless one

I feel alone and I try and try and try to wait

Try and try to pray

N-n-n-no no

[Verse 2]

Discoveries

I'm tired of discoveries

A reality fake

Yeah I cannot take what the earth has inside

Remedy, woah

I hear you have the remedy

To dwell in the night

Shatters the light

That must have bled your eyes

[Chorus]

How could I let you go?

When there is nothing for me?

How could I be so low

When I'm alone and I try, and try, and try to pray?

Try and try to pray

N-n-n-no no

Merciful God, I come

I know You listen to the poor and the helpless one

I feel alone and I try, and try, and try to wait

Try and try to pray

N-n-n-no no

[Bridge]

When I read the word I am comforted by your name

But never seem to grow the relationship of my faith

God, I need you here 'cause I'm weakening in the state

To look like a believer who is firm, and I'm afraid

[Chorus]

How could I let you go?

When there is nothing for me?

How could I be so low

When I'm alone and I try, and try, and try to pray?

Try and try to pray

N-n-n-no no

Merciful God, I come

I know you listen to the poor and the helpless one

I feel alone and I try, and try, and try to wait

Try and try to pray

N-n-n-no no

[Outro]

Try and try to pray, woah

Try and try to pray

LYRICS | KINGDOM OF GOD Oh, that I could see your face How I’m longing for that day Brighter sun of holy grace Make my heart a holy place Blessed are the poor who have nothing to own Blessed are the mourners who are crying alone Blessed are the guilty who have nowhere to go For their hearts have a road to the kingdom of God And their souls are the songs of the kingdom of God And they will find a refuge for theirs is the kingdom of God Beauty shining from your face Always longed to see this place Is there somewhere I can stay? Even just a couple days? Blessed are the poor who have nothing to own Blessed are the mourners who are crying alone Blessed are the guilty who have nowhere to go For their hearts have a road to the kingdom of God And their souls are the songs of the kingdom of God And they will find a refuge for theirs is the kingdom of God The Lord is our shepherd, we shall not want In valley or pasture, we shall not want Our cup runneth over and over For now and forever For now and forever The Lord is our shepherd, we shall not want In valley or pasture, we shall not want Our cup runneth over and over For now and forever For now and forever For now and forever For now and forever Blessed are the poor who have nothing to own Blessed are the mourners who are crying alone Blessed are the guilty who have nowhere to go For their hearts have a road to the kingdom of God And their souls are the songs of the kingdom of God And they will find a refuge for theirs is the kingdom of God Oh, that I could see your face How I’m longing for that day

Want God’s power? Speak!

 Blessed morning!

Want God’s power? Speak!

We all want God’s power to be upon our lives.  On Sunday, Pastor Prince gave us the keys through Scripture.

Ecclesiastes 8:4 (NKJV)

Where the word of a king is, there is power.

You may be asking, “But am I a king?”

According to God’s Word, Yes! And not only a king, you are also a priest.

Revelation 1:5-6 (NKJV)

To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever.

All throughout the gospel, you see God encouraging His people to speak like a king - with the authority and power that comes from heaven.

2 Cor 4:13 NKJV

And since we have the same spirit of faith,

according to what is written, “I believe and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.

This is why Senior Pastor always encourages us to not only believe God’s promises found in His Word in our heart, but to speak, declare and say them out loud over ourselves and our loved ones.

For our Lord Jesus Himself said, “Whoever SAYS to this mountain, ‘Be removed and cast into the sea’, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes those things he SAYS will be done, he will have whatever he SAYS (Mark 11:23).”

So faith involves believing in your heart and speaking using the power of your tongue. The Lord made us in His image. Jesus is the King of kings and the High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek. The Bible tells us Jesus spoke to the storm and it subsided. He spoke to the fig tree and it withered. He spoke to demons and they fled. He spoke to the sick and they were healed.

Similarly, as king-priests by His grace, God does not want us to be worried or anxious when we are faced with darkness in any area of our life. Instead, He wants us to call forth what we want to see.

For instance, if you are caught in a precarious situation, declare: “The Lord is my refuge and fortress. My God in Him I will trust (Psalm 91:2).” And if you are sick, declare: “By Jesus’ stripes, I am healed.”

So start speaking God’s promises over yourself and you shall soon see them manifest for you!

Don’t get familiar, get intimate with Him

Don’t get familiar, get intimate with Him

The word “familiar” is defined in the Oxford’s Dictionary as “well known from long association.” After listening to Pastor Prince on Sunday, it’s worth musing if it is good enough to have just a well-known and long association with Jesus. The answer? There’s something better. Intimacy with Christ is much better than familiarity with Him.

Senior Pastor said the disciples walked with Jesus for three-and-a half years. They knew the Lord and had a long association with Him. But it was their familiarity which caused Philip to ask in John 14:8 (NKJV): “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”

Jesus replied: “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, “Show us the Father?” Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works (John 14:9-10).”

Pastor Prince said we can be disciples or students of Jesus. But it’s not ideal if we only see Him as a rabbi or teacher. However, if we have a sense of sonship to the Father, there is intimacy with the LORD.

He gave the example of the Roman centurion found in Matt 8:5-13. Said Senior Pastor: “The Roman centurion didn’t walk with Jesus day in, day out like Philip and the disciples. The disciples had familiarity, but the centurion had intimacy for the Holy Spirit revealed more to him about Jesus. The centurion said to Jesus, ‘Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word and my servant will be healed.’ To which Jesus said, “Assuredly, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”

And what happened next? Matt 8:13 tells us Jesus then said to the centurion, “Go your way, and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

So if it’s a breakthrough or healing that you need, see Jesus in the gospels who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). Know that Jesus Himself said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father. Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in Me? That the Father in Me does the works.” So to see Jesus doing good and healing all is to see your Abba Father’s heart of love for you! Therefore, be encouraged not to treat the LORD as only your teacher. See Him as a loving Father, get intimate with Him like the Roman centurion and your breakthrough shall come next!
